Weak domestic equity market influenced the rupee dip

USD dollars The Indian currency is healthier slightly against the dollar in early trades on Monday, 21 Nov 2016, but lost impetus subsequently as sliding local shares weighed. Rupee recovered against the USD in the opening trade today on fresh selling of the American currency by exporters and banks. The domestic currency opened at Rs 68.09 against the USD but plunged to a low of 68.235 so far during the day.

Gold has tumbled to a fresh 6-month low in the middle of overwhelming gains in USD and continued profit selling pressure. The US dollar index climbed to its 14-year high last week as a break above the critical 100 levels extended.

Crude Oil Speculative Longs Down for 5th Week. Large speculators and traders cut their net bullish positions for a 5th straight week in the WTI crude oil futures markets last week, as per the latest Commitment of Traders data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Friday.
