Oil stable on expectations of extended OPEC-led production cut

In consequence of the expectations by traders over the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries-led production cut, oil prices stayed still on Friday, 12 May 2017. The US crude inventories skid to their lowest levels since February 2017. The International Brent crude futures figured at USD 50.78 per barrel in the early trade on Friday, which was nearly unchanged from their previous close. Market registers small gains, Nifty ends Feb expiry at 8939

The key benchmark indices logged the day on a flat note amid a high volatile session of the week. The BSE Sensex, gained 28.26 points or 0.1% at 28,892.97, while the Nifty50 index rose 12.60 points or 0.14% to 8,939.50 at closing. The BSE Mid-Cap index was up 0.19%, while the BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.11%. Both these indices outperformed the Sensex. Intraday volatility was high. 18 Jan- Sensex Gain, Nifty holds 8,400, Stock Market Closing Update

The benchmark indices, the Sensex and Nifty were trading higher afternoon today, after the Income Tax Dept soothed the worries of FPIs over a potential increase in tax liability. Both the indices were trading higher by nearly 0.3% on fresh foreign fund inflows and strong Asian cues. At 1.30 pm, the BSE Sensex, was up 40 points at 27,275 and the NSE Nifty was up 19 at 8,417.
